Today we woke quite late again and did brunch at The Farm on Beverly. Managed to sort out Nat's SIM so our TMobile's are all now up and running and a pleasure. Wonder if we'll get signal in The Caribbean ;-).
We then headed along Pico Boulevard to Santa Monica where we parked and walked to Venice Beach. Very interesting characters and markets along the way. Bought Nat a new instrument...home made mini sax which she managed to get a few notes from although we need a smaller reed which we'll get back home. The muscle beach was something we'd seen on Tv so was good to chat with some of the 'BIG' boys who were working out there, topless of course despite the weather. Was actually quite mild today, i.e. sunny and quite warm.
We then drove to the 3rd street promenade which is a lovely open mall where the girls made a beeline for Abercrombie and Fitch while I headed for the bank (no one will give me change for the $100 bills I got down under...so I got a stack of $5 and $10 bills for all those tips!). Benj and I watched some buskers doing their stuff and strolled the mall.
Hit a heap of traffic on Santa Monica Boulevard on the way back to BH. Freshened up and then went to the Hackner's for a lovely Shabbas dinner of salmon on rice done with beautiful spices.
Packing now for a day in transit tomorrow so not sure when the next post will be. All depends on whether the boat has wireless? As we lose 3 hours heading East tomorrow the day will be a long day of travel.
Good Shabbos to you all!
