Cruise coming to end

It’s 1am Sunday morning and we’re about 5 hours out of Miami. Bags are packed and in the corridor about to picked up. We have chosen to disembark latest at 10am as we have a 4 hour drive to Orlando so no real hurry. We’ll have breakfast and then head off.

The seas have been rough for the first time on this our last day. However hasn’t stopped us having fun. We saw another great production in the Arcadia Theatre and the Circus Parade in the Royal Promenade was excellent as always. One of the real stars here has been the Cruise Director, Richard Spacey. The guy is a freak, so much energy. Apparently he has a You Tube of some of his antics so check it out.

We said our goodbyes to our waiters and stateroom attendant and gave them their gratuities. Interesting system where they suggest amounts and you buy vouchers. We gave extra as the service was outstanding. Really quite sad. You really get to know these people well. They’re from so many different countries and all with interesting stories eg. Husband and wife from Philippines both work on ship while grandparents bring up their two young kids back home. They don’t see them for 6 months at a time. Our room attendant in particular, Reynaldo was incredible. Of course Benjy was a favourite and everyone knows him now. The best fun is the little animals they make from the towels and leave on your bed each night. It’s a treat coming back to your room to see what new creation awaits you.

The highlight of the day was the all in festival around 11 in the Royal Promenade which featured many different little stalls and shows in which the did ice carvings, melon carvings, showed you how to fold napkins and towels, had all different food to taste, etc, etc. You have to see the footage.

It’s late and I need to be fresh for the drive to Disneyworld. It’s been an incredible 7 days on this amazing ship! Good night.

5am update

We've just docked in Miami!

Have sent Charmaine and Ivan the blog via Kerry's Facebook, so hopefully they will also get to enjoy.

  3. Thank Jen and Gayle for your feedback! A relief in some ways to be able to have an early night for a change. We're going to need it as lots of legwork ahead. Love to all, Brad
